MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – The Skylark is Jayco’s most energy-efficient travel
trailer. Thirty percent lighter in weight than a conventionally built
travel trailer of the same length, the 2012 Skylark combines aerodynamic
design, advanced green technology and European-inspired styling into a
light-weight package that’s towable by 75 percent of all cars, trucks
and SUVs. Designed for minimal environmental impact and maximum
comfort, the Skylark takes Jayco’s legendary liveability to a new level
of performance and economy.
Measuring 22 feet long and weighing only 2,950 lbs., the Skylark was
designed for improved towability. The Skylkark’s V-Nose front profile
and air conditioner placement are among the construction and design
enhancements, which provide the ability to cut through wind and
dramatically reduce drag. By placing the air conditioner on the
floorline instead of the roofline, the center of gravity is lowered,
thus allowing a single axle system for less weight and improved
performance.
Contemporary style mixed with European features can be seen throughout
the 2012 Jayco Skylark, providing a futuristic feel. The Euro-style
double-pane acrylic tinted windows, light-weight Concord Cherry
cabinetry with brushed nickel hardware and a unique stainless steel sink
with integrated faucet and cover complete the sleek and sophisticated
look. Other interior features include a high-intensity 12V LED lighting
package, linoleum flooring throughout, jack-knife aluminum framed sofa,
2-burner stainless steel cook top with integrated cover and a 48” x 76”
high-density foam mattress bed that lifts up easily on struts with extra
storage beneath.
In addition to its light-weight construction and contemporary
euro-styling, the 2012 Skylark is “greener” than other conventionally
built travel trailers of its size by offering standard features higher
in energy efficiency. Green technology such as LED lighting systems
throughout help consume less than one-fourth the electricity that
conventional lighting consumes, and lamps last about 10 times as long.
Double-paned acrylic tinted windows, Azdel™ Super Lite Substrate in all
lamination and various other “sustainable technology” techniques help
keep the Skylark energy efficient and are features that provide
customers reliable resale values.
All Jayco products have been Green Certified by TRA Certification, Inc,
an independent third party certification agency. The Skylark earned an
Emerald Certification, which is the highest distinction available. This
high rating was earned through the use of sustainable materials,
environmentally-friendly production methods, energy-efficient components
and reduction of waste.
